Recently, I came across a concept that deeply resonated with me – The Fulfilment Formula.
Fulfilment = Creativity + Connection + Contribution.
I believe we were all born to create. Create in our own unique and special ways. Creativity is not bound by the four walls of work but free in how you express yourselves in your daily lives. We feel good when we create, and it can bring a sense of satisfaction. However, imagine spending hours working on something you’re passionate about, only to have no one experience or benefit from it. That’s how I feel when I share my thoughts in a blog but don’t click on publish. It’s rewarding, but something is missing. That’s because creativity alone doesn’t fulfil us—we also crave connection. True fulfilment comes when we share our creations with others and see how they impact their lives.
To achieve fulfilment we must connect with others. I believe humans were created for shared existence and experience. To truly thrive, we must connect with others; after all, we were not born to be alone. One of the highest acts of love through connection is contribution.
We enjoy private victory when we are useful and helpful to others. This can be classed as an act of love. To create something, connect with others through that creation and know it helped someone, is fulfilment.
